We have just had a downpour of biblical proportions. The track is underwater and the race has been called off. Just for
a while there it looked as if we would really get going but it was not to be.
Tune back in a couple of hours and we will have today's pictures for you.

FIA Top Fuel Dragster eliminations round 1
Top Fuel Dragster is running over 1000 feet this weekend.
Risto Poutiainen 4.2185/430.16 bye, Timo Lehtimäki shut off
Timo's chutes both fell out whilst the crew were cleaning the tyres after backing up. Risto took the bye with huge header
flames clearly visible in the gloom. 0.9033 to sixty feet,
3.3688/392.82 to the eighth and shut off at about 850 feet.
Jöran Persåker shut off, Anita Mäkelä shut off
These last few races have taken place under a sky as dark as night. Jöran and Anita were pulling into
stage when word came of rain at the top end and they were signalled to shut off. Anita's motor really did
not want to stop, eager to race I guess.
It is pouring with rain right now, the finish line has disappeared. Stay tuned.

Mats' car stuck to the track whilst Jan pedalled and tried to catch up but to no avail.

Tomi away first 0.1375 to 0.2059 and

4.0298/296.95 at the eighth to Micke's 4.3833/281.81. Micke was just plain outrun and that must be one of the
quickest ever nitrous passes in Europe.

Pierre got the jump 0.0578 to 0.1026 but Niclas had the better incrementals all along, 1.0212 to sixty to

All the incrementals better for Freddy in this one, 1.0472 sixty foot to 1.0629,

Attention racers: Race officials have just told us that a Test Day is available
here at Mantorp Park tomorrow (Monday). It is open to all teams at a cost of 10,000 SEK but at least five teams must sign up
if the test is to go ahead. Full track and safety cover and timing will of course be provided. For more details contact the
office at Mantorp Park at +46 (0)142 298 862.
13:20
We're having one of those rain - dry - rain - dry - rain days. However no-one's giving up here and there is much talk of
an improvement on the way and of running into the evening. Stay tuned.
11:30
It has been raining quite heavily but right now it has stopped and the sky is brightening to our left. Stay tuned.
09:00
Good morning and welcome from Mantorp Park for our coverage of the 2010 Veidec Festival, presented in association with
American Car Imports.
The Webster Race
Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line
and is broadcasting a view of the head of the pairing lanes updated once per minute. Our colleagues at
Nitro.se are running a live webcast which you can view
via the event index page.
It's overcast but dry here at Mantorp Park...and as I typed that I noticed umbrellas going up in the stands.
Argh! OK, step outside Race Control and it's raining quite heavily.
A big Hello to Herb Andrews who wrote this morning to say how much he is enjoying the coverage. Thanks very
much Herb, stay tuned, and Get Well Soon. We similarly heard from Andy Barrack who sent a very nice E-Mail about the
coverage, thanks Andy. To all those who have written, please be assured that even if we are too busy to reply this stuff
is all read and much appreciated.
On a similar subject your reporter would like to say a big Thank You to Kirstie, Simon,
Roger and Ed who have been doing all the physical work the last few days at trackside, in the pits and elsewhere around
the facility. It's easy for me since I just sit and type, but those guys have been on their feet all day every day, have not
stopped working, and not a word of complaint from any of them however shagged out they must be, how late we are working, or
what the weather conditions are. Thanks guys. Thanks also to Spencer and Christer who have sat up late into the night
with us to help out.
Today's plan is for the presentation of top qualifiers then into round one of Pro Mod, followed by
FIA and then UEM classes, then into Sportsman 16 -> 8.
The rain has stopped but the track is going to need drying. Stay tuned and we'll be back as soon as there is something
to report.
