Top Fuel Dragster is running over 1000 feet this weekend.

Håkan's tyres went up in smoke at the hit, he stayed with it to the Tree then shut off, a long
trail of fluid on the track which turned out to be fuel. Timo on the outside looking in, until this run anyway.
0.8963 to sixty feet, sticking to the track, 3.3568/383.25 to the eighth and into the top half of the ladder.
Next up, two racers on the outside of the field, could they make it in? The answer is no courtesy of
what looked like a synchronised blower belt throw. 0.9388 to sixty for Micke and 0.8971 for Jari, then both
shut off more or less simultaneously. We saw Jari's belt came off and Micke's car behaved as if the belt had broken,
both off the throttle at about 400 feet.
Janne next to have a go at getting into the ladder from the outside and he lined up against Jöran.
Jöran's revs were very high as he got off the burnout, very similar
to Stig earlier and again remedied by a crew member sprinting to help. 0.9152 to sixty for Jöran to
Janne's 0.9276, 3.4191/344.58 to the eighth for Jöran to Janne's 3.3995/385.91, Janne made it into
the ladder but it all happened in Jöran's lane as the tyres hazed, the blower belt flew, there was a flash of flame,
Jöran put the chutes out and there looked to be a fire on the car as he disappeared over the hill in the
shutdown area. Not much consternation from the top end crew though so probably not as bad as it appeared or maybe even
not as it appeared. Great run betweem Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs and Risto, a pair of clean runs.
0.9068 to sixty for Urs to Risto's 0.9026, 3.3384/396.69 to the eighth for Urs to Risto's 3.3569/394.53,
0.009 between them at the stripe and moves up the ladder for both. Nice run for Andy, safe 0.9041 to sixty
feet and 3.3511 at the eighth, up to second place. Anita had a relatively pedestrian 1.16 second sixty foot time and
had cylinders out all the way.

Johnny crept the beams and stopped a few feet out. 1.0355 to sixty for Mattias but some shake a couple of
hundred feet out and he had to feather the throttle. Johan S hit tyre spin off the line, the advantage of a turbo
car is that your reporter can hear such things happening. Small improvement for Jonas but both watching tomorrow.
Drama in the next pair as Erik's car started to blackstripe and crossed lanes just behind Freddy in the traps.
Freddy had put himself comprehensively into the field with a stormer, 1.0660 to sixty feet and 4.1252/289.35
at the eighth. Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham shut off after returning from his burnout and is spectating tomorrow, not immediately
apparent from here why that was but then word came through on the radio that there was a problem with the
throttle linkage. Jöran took the bye and - join in if you know this one - hit appalling shake at the hit,
got off the throttle and idled up the track. Next in the Last Chance Saloon was the reigning Champion...could
Mats pull out the big one? Yes he could! 1.0617 to sixty feet, 4.1428/284.46 at the eighth, moving all over his
lane but staying with it even when the Crown Victoria got close to the left guardrail and then made a huge move
to the right at about 1000 feet. Chutes were late but Mats got it stopped OK. Improvement for Markko, 1.1099 to sixty
feet and 4.3483 at the eighth, but not good enough for the top sixteen. David was off the throttle by the eighth.
1.0903 to sixty for Lars, 4.2498/279.41 at the eighth, got very close to the left guardrail so shut off and put the
chute out. Patrick hit bad shake at the hit, shut off and drew to a halt just at the start of the quarter mile speed trap.
Good starts for both Terje and Jari, 1.0616 to sixty for Terje to Jari's 1.0582. When Jari's front left wheel
came down the 'Vette made a move and just crossed the centre line. Terje's motor sounded to zing at the eighth,
maybe tramsmission failure but either way he shut it off. Great side-by-side match for Jan and Håkan,
Håkan had the better sixty foot time 1.0376 to 1.1289 and the better eighth which just vanished on me.
Great match between Tomi and Micke L, Micke had the better incrementals with 1.0547 sixty to 1.0694 and
4.1892 eighth to 4.2245. Tomi up one place, no mpove for Micke. Consistency for Pierre, probably safely in the
ladder. Bruno certainly safe and just as well as on this run he hit bad shake off the line and had to pedal.
Bad tyre shake for Niclas and he was off it by about 100 feet, 1.0654 to sixty for Roger and 4.1215/290.05,
the Mustang made a hard move in the second half, up on two wheels job at speed, Roger put the chutes out
and got it straight, brave driving job. Micke G hit shake off the line and shut off. Consistent run for
Johan with another 6.1-second pass, alas the incrementals had a shelf life of about five seconds before
they were wiped. Great run from Urban to close the session, 1.0227 to sixty feet and another three-second
eighth mile at 3.9902/296.83.

Into the ladder went Nixxon. 1.0564 to sixty feet and 4.5913/251.11 at half track, didn't hear as many gear
changes as usual but good enough for the top half of the ladder at that point. Micke and Michael outside the
field as they went to the line. Championship #2 driver Micke is watching tomorrow after hitting shake off the
line, he pedalled and gave it all he could but it wasn't enough in the end. 1.1221 to sixty feet for
Michael, 4.5585/258.00 at the eighth and into the ladder. Tommy also spectating tomorrow, hitting shake
just past sixty feet which he reached in 1.0930. He pedalled as the car made a move and got back on it
all the way but not enough to get into the top eight. Kenneth, safely in tomorrow's ladder, hit terrible
shake off the line, shut off and idled up the track. Mats shut off after the burnout so Jan took the bye.
Again terrible shake at the hit, shut off and idled up the track. Nice runs for Jimmy and Jonas. Jonas had
the better sixty foot time 1.0245 to 1.0388, Jimmy's eighth was 4.4011 but Jonas' was wiped fron the screen
before I was able to note it. Jonas up one place in the ladder

Danny left before the lights ran and hit bad shake into the bargain.
1.0378 to sixty for Jarmo, 3.9850/305.47 at the eighth, straight run with no drama and into #1 spot.
Looked and sounded like a transmission or rear axle failure right at the hit for Arvid, the motor
zinged and there were metallic grating noises, the car was shaking as it idled along the track so of
the two I am guessing rear axle. Rob's tyres didn't light on the burnout and he paid for it as they
lit at the hit instead and Rob shut off. Nice run for Dan to take #1 spot back from Jarmo, 1.0145 to sixty feet and
3.8918/312.32 to the eighth.

Perfect burnout for Eurodragster.com sponsor Derek this time. Tuner Jim Rizzoli had changed his shirt since the last run,
maybe that did the trick! 0.9801 to sixty for Derek, good-looking run to begin with. 1.0375 to sixty for Krister. Derek got to about
500 feet then his tyres started to haze and he had cylinders out on both sides from that point onwards. An improvement
for Krister but he stayed in place, Derek is spectating tomorrow. 0.9350 to sixty for Dennis, 0.9301 for
Peter. The cars looked side by side, Peter ahd the better eighth 3.5680/338.62 to 3.6427/325.23. Peter improved but stayed
in #2, Dennis moved up two places. Team-mates next up, Fred and Paul Ingar. -0.0138 red for Fred, not that it matters
in qualifying. 0.9832 to sixty for Fred to Paul's 0.9534, Paul Ingar had the better eighth 3.6619/328.77 to 3.7079/322.62,
Paul there first by 0.092 and into the top half of the ladder. Timo had the better sixty foot time 0.9713 to 1.0097 but
then his tyres went up in smoke and he shut off before half track. No improvement for Grumpy but a clean-looking run.

Improvements too for Sverre and Petri, Petri moving up a place and Sverre staying where he was. Nice launch for
Peter A, 1.0993 to sixty feet, but the bike was heading for the centre line and when the front came down he
had to feather the throttle and correct. 1.0754 to sixty for Peter S, front wheel in the air again, then
sounded to me as if a belt broke when the wheel came down and unloaded the back end...almost right,
word just came over the track radio that the chain broke.

Both Eric's and Petri's motors faltered and they were both off it by about 200 feet. Eric's bike had to be towed off
the track. Again a lot of smoke from Jaska's bike. 1.0747 to sixty feet but then his rear tyre went up in smoke. Jaska
tried feathering the throttle but the bike made a move, still an improvement but not taking part in Supertwin tomorrow.
No improvements for either Tommy or Roman and both are watching tomorrow. Tremendous run for Trond took him from outside
the ladder to #1 spot. Greger's motor ground to a half after the burnout and he was pushed back. Ronny took the bye,
1.3154 to sixty feet and then a big cloud of smoke at the stripe, made up one ladder place but not competing tomorrow.
An improvement for Joachim moved him up the laddet but he will be spectating. Big burnout from Lo, could he get himself
back into the ladder for tomorrow? Yes he could! 1.1563 to sixty feet, much straighter run this time and into #1 spot.
Per then took the lead with a tremendous pass. 1.1460 to sixty feet. Consistent run by Jan Sturla and up one place.
1.1875 to sixty for Job and 1.1914 for Hans Olav, one of the wheelie bar side panels came off Hans Olav's bike right
on the eighth. Job up the ladder a couple of spots.

Kenneth's motor cut out at the hit again and boy was he unhappy, punching the air. 1.1401 to sixty for harri, 4.7049/236.90 to
the eighth, and into tomorrow's ladder as things stood then. No joy for Martin or Karl Heinz, both spectating tomorrow. Becky into
tomorrow's ladder whilst Ulf got very close to the guardrail and is spectating tomorrow - there's your headliner, the Champion not
qualified. No improvement for Gabbi but she
looked to be safely in the ladder anyway, no joy for Timo. Nice run for Stavros, already in the ladder but moved up, alongside
him Bousinis tried hard but won't be racing tomorrow. Big improvement for Frdrik moved him into the top half of the ladder,
no improvement for Kalle but the team happy with that run. Jesper shut off at the eighth but is safely in, Anders consolidated
number one spot with a new track ET record, well done Anders!

Håkan's throttle stop came off in the burnout and the motor zinged and lifted the blower.
It must have been an almighty bang from the blower as the guard was
badly bent out of shape. Nice first full pass for Monica, 0.9357 to sixty feet, 3.4919/375.11 at the eighth, looked like a cylinder out just
before the eighth trying to move the car around but Monica stayed with it and moved up to #4 at that point.
Rare -0.1293 red for Andy, 0.9063 to sixty feet, no shake and 3.3865/390.49 at the eighth, up into #2 spot at that
point. 0.9260 to sixty feet for Timo, then some blackstriping and the blower belt departed the car at about 450 feet.
Micke had the better sixty foot time 0.9288 to Risto's 0.9390, the cars more or less side-by-side though, Risto got
to the eighth in 3.4061/390.70, just as Micke got to the eighth there was a flash of flame from his motor
and then a huge fireball, 3.4377/329.37 on fire through the eighth and a trail of oil from about 300 feet to the finish
line.
Anita and Stig first on the re-start. Anita told us that she shut off slightly early yesterday as a computer wire
came loose in the cockpit and seeing a flash of orange she got off the throttle. 0.9396 to sixty for Anita and
0.8851 for Stig, Anita's tyres went up in smoke past the Tree and she shut off at about 300 feet as the dragster made
a move to the right. 3.3682/379.04 to the eighth for Stig, a nicely-judged run and up the ladder to fourth. Jari's motor
cut out after about half a second, I am guessing the blower belt broke. Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs' motor stopped
a few seconds after firing up, nothing visibly wrong and the dragster was pushed away. Janne took the bye, 0.9229 to
sixty feet, his tyres started to smoke just before the eighth but he stayed on it, 3.5747/332.09 at the eighth
with the motor note going higher and the tyres smoking more and more and at least one person on the facility wondering
which would happen first, Janne reaching the finish line or the motor blowing. Luckily it was column A.

Bad shake at the hit for Johan S and the Viper turned hard right and crossed the centre line. Johan idled up the track
having had his bell rung. 400-foot burnout for Johnny but then the car rolled on to about 800 feet sat stopped on the track.
With the car stopped that far down there was no question of running Micke G so he shut off and waited patiently.
Johnny's car retrieved Micke took his bye. 1.0459 to sixty feet, no sign of shake, 4.0637/291.10 at the eighth, and
into second spot with his first run of the weekend. Mats had a dead battery yesterday, you can be sure it was on
charge all night. 1.0586 to sixty for Bruno and 1.0531 for Mats, 4.1043 to half track for Bruno whilst Mats was
pedalling slightly for shake. Bruno's 'Vette started to blackstripe and move about its lane in the second half but
he stayed with it and took #3 spot. Mats' blower belt left the car just about half track, probably with the pedalling.
More than half track burnout for Freddy but then his tyres went up in smoke at the hit, he just kept pedalling it with
the left side door flapping in the breeze, too much time lost to get into the ladder at that point. No such problems
for Tomi, the car stuck to the track and a big move to the top half of the ladder - incrementals vanished very quickly
unfortunately. Dramatic run for Adam, 1.0552 to sixty feet to Lars' 1.0721 but then the Camaro hit shake and headed
for the centre line. Adam got off the throttle and kept it in his lane, but when he hit it again the car made another
hard right move, hit the 924 foot reflector and crossed lanes. Luckily Lars was long gone, 4.2851/274.54 at half track
and a move up the ladder. The bump spot went into the sixes at that point too. High time that Robert Joosten's
new car nightmare ended, would this be the run? Lots of smoke from the headers whilst Robert pulled into stage.
Good looking run to start with for Robert. A tiny bit of shake, 1.1395 to sixty feet, then the car started
to move left and right, 4.6016/232.49 at the eighth and suddenly a hard move to the right. Robert shut off
and put the chute out, a great save job as that car was I swear up on two wheels. 1.0805 to sixty for Norbert and
4.2007/289.93 at the eighth, found his form again and the team delighted with that one.
1.0809 to sixty for Jonas, 4.5131/248.78 at the eighth but everyone watching Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham as his tyres went up in smoke,
he pedalled and got back on it but the Bird was moving all over its lane and not unlike Robert made a hard move
in the second half so he shut off.
1.0475 to sixty for Håkan, driving through shake and up into sixth at that point, 1.9331 came up as Mattias' ET.
Tremendous pass for Roger, 1.0326 to sixty feet and the front left wheel up in the air to about 400 feet, 4.1097/286.26
at the eighth and into fourth spot. Timo improved but stayed in place, and the Bel Air left one of its chutes on the track
in the shutdown area. Timo got it stopped OK though. Strange pair of runs for David and Eurodragster.com sponsor Marco,
the cars were side by side and the runs looked a lot quicker than what came up on the boards. I am guessing some time
lost to spin in both lanes. Instant spin and smoke for Patrick, he pedalled and then got back on it and tried to chase
Terje down but didn't have enough, up one spot in the ladder but not in the top sixteen. Terje planted himself firmly
in the qualified field. Erik's and Jari's runs good for a couple of ladder spots, Jari's ru put him into the top sixteen
and bumped the Champion out. Great run for Johan L to put him into #1 spot. 1.0317 to sixty feet, 4.0182/297.07 at the
eighth. Jöran seemed to have trouble getting the Firebird off the line, lost a fair bit of time from yesterday's run.
Well, Johan's lead lasted all of one run! Superb pass from Urban. 1.0125 to sixty feet and our first three-second
eighth mile of the weekend at 3.9895/299.78. Marko hit shake and shut off as the 'Vette made a hard left. New track
ET record for Urban, well done Ubbe! Shakefest in the next pair. 1.1381 to sixty for Micke L and 1.1311 for Jan but then
they hit shake simultaneously. Micke shut off whilst Jan tried to drive out of it, the driver side door flapping oopn
and shut. Smoke from Jan's motor right on the line, track checked and found to be OK.
1.1060 to sixty feet for Pierre although the car looked to leave a little gently, 4.2061/283.79 at the eighth.

Nixxon hit shake off the line but with a lot at stake pedalled and got back on it. 5.0745/248.70
at half track and off it just a touch early. By no means a perfect run but enough to get him into the
ladder as things stood. Long burndown then Same story for Michael and Micke: shake, pedals and back on it to try to move
up the unusually slow field, both moved up the ladder. Micke rode out a particularly violent move with
tyres smoking but stayed with it. 1.0396 to sixty for Kenneth to Tommy's shakey 1.1805, Tommy pedalled and
got back on it whilst Kenneth drove through slight shake and went into #1 spot. Instant tyre spin for
Mats and he was off it. 1.0097 to sixty for Jimmy, eighth mile incrementals just disappeared off the screen, but a
new track speed record for Jimmy, well done Jimmy! 1.1159 to sixty for Jonas D and then shake and he had to pedal.
1.0675 to sixty for Jan and the tiniest bit of shake which he drove through, 4.4454/258.46 at the eighth and
then into #2 spot. Jonas E shut off after his burnout so Bo took the bye. 1.0975 to sixty feet, a little
shake, 4.7606/233.69 at the eighth and then a big puff of smoke at about 700 feet.

Both Danny's and Jarmo's tyres went up in smoke at the hit. Extended burnouts to about 100 feet then Danny got off the
throttle, Jarmo stayed with it driving through some violent moves but eventually got off it. An improvement in ET for Jarmo
but no change in position. 1.0130 to sixty for Dan, 1.0513 for Rob.
3.9674/298.54 at half track for Dan and then into #1 spot although his team did not look at all happy with the run.
4.1340/285.81 to half track for Rob and then a move up the ladder, stepping up the new car by degrees I'd say.
Jürgen rolled the beams very slightly, 1.2474 to sixty feet then the tyres smokes. Jürgen pedalled and
there was a flash from the motor at half track 4.5318/282.03, no accompanying bang though and he stayed on the throttle
all the way.

Eurodragster.com sponsor Derek's tyres didn't light on the burnout, tuner Jim Rizzoli shook his head in disappointment.
Now, sometimes it doesn't seem to harm when the tyres don't light - would this be one of those runs? Unfortunately not as the
Gold RV car got about ten feet before the tyres blazed. Derek got off the pedal for about half a second then tried again and
the tyres blazed again and the dragster turned hard right at which point Derek called it a day for that run. Another flash fire for
Esko off the line, 1.0198 to sixty feet with a cylinder out. 1.0457 to sixty for Krister and 3.873/327.44 at half track
compared to Esko's 3.9461/312.32 with a lot of smoke from the motor. Both racers off the throttle before the stripe. Nice run
between Paul Ingar and Dennis; Paul Ingar got the jump off the line 0.0364 to 0.0466 and the better sixty foot time 0.9497 to 0.9647,
3.6866/323.77 at the eighth to Dennis' 3.6991/324.06, the cars were pretty much side by side especially in the first half but
Paul had more and moved up a place whilst Dennis stayed in place despite an improvement.
Great run for Peter into #1 spot. 0.0995 RT, 0.9548 to sixty and 3.6121/337.04 at the eighth. 1.0319 to sixty for Grumpy and
3.8444/330.58 at the eighth, the Silverline dragster seemed to be labouring just a little. A quick leak check on Fred's
dragster before staging but all OK. Great match between Timo and Fred, lightning 0.0177 RT for Fred to Timo's 0.0618,
0.9244 to sixty for Timo to Fred's 0.9938, 3.5512/337.20 to the eighth for Timo and 3.6795/334.49 for Fred. Fred's
blower burst panel gave way at about 1100 feet as he was getting close to the guardrail, meanwhile Timo went into #1 spot.

I am guessing a checkout pass for Ronny on his return, gentle launch of 1.3495. Eric's bike struggled to get off the line
and he was shut off by 200 feet. Improvement for Roman and a great run for Per, 1.3218 to sixty and straight as you like into
second place. 1.1858 to sixty feet for Ismo but then shut off before the stripe, Martijn's bike sounded to be struggling
and it headed for the centre line so he had to feather the throttle. Lots of consternation around Jaska's bike before
staging, unburned fuel coming from the exhaust and then the rear slick up in smoke at the hit. Jaska feathered the
throttle but then his motor started to smoke and left a long trail of oil on the track. 1.2689 to sixty for
Tommy but he was off the throttle by about 400 feet.
Improvements for Joachim and Samu on the re-start. 1.2793 to sixty for Joachim and 1.2002 for Samu,
Joachim's front wheel was in the air for a long time and the front end thumped back down. Much straighter
run for Jan Sturla and a move up the ladder. Good run for Trond too, improved but stayed in place.
1.2176 to sixty for Lo and 1.2074 for Greger, straight run for Greger with a small amount of shake
whilst Lo was really fighting the bike as it fishtailed violently and almost had him off.
Tremendous pass for Job, 1.1993 to sixty and straight as you like into #1 spot. Svein hit bad shake at the hit and
shut off, drawing to a halt at about 400 feet. 1.2487 to sixty for Roel but then a bang and a ball of flame from the
motor. Tremendous pass for Hans Olav, 1.1890 to sixty feet and into #1 spot by 0.0001!

Stavros' motor lost fire after the burnout but was quickly restarted. 1.1631 to sixty feet for Stavros and
a good straight run. Karl Heinz got off the throttle for a couple of seconds as the bike went for the centre line,
he straightened it out then got back on it. Both Harri's and Kenneth's motors cut out at the hit. Same story
for Martin, motor cut out at the hit. 1.1345 to sixty feet for Becky but sounded as if the gears were moxing up and he was
off the throttle at half track. Zoltán and Timo were shut off before staging as Dave Beck had not cleared the top end.
No time came up in Ulf's lane. 1.2832 to sixty for Bousinis and an improvement although he stayed in place. 1.1358 sixty
foot for Gabbi and 1.1569 for Kalle, 4.7144 to the eighth to Kalle's quicker 4.6795 but then Kalle shut off.
Nice match between Fredrik and Jesper, 1.1542 to sixty and 4.7108 at the eighth for Fredrik and 1.0891 to sixty and
4.6339 to the eighth for Jesper and a move back up the ladder for Fredrik. Anders clocked 1.1552 to sixty and 4.8357 at the
eighth but then shut off a touch early. 1.1534 to sixty for Zoltán bu the bike sounded to be hesitating.
Timo pulled a red and his motor stopped just off the line.

We had a stop for a lengthy (distance not time) oildown in this session. The track crew as ever did a great job of clean-up

It's a a better day weather-wise. The cloud base has increased in height and there are patches of blue sky. There is
a bit of a breeze coming up the track, bu it's not raining - after the last couple of days things can only get better.
A big Hello to former Top Fuel Dragster racer Viveca Averstedt and husband Håkan who are tuned in from Florida.

Today will be led by Sportsman qualifying, as we have yet to complete a first cycle, and then two cycles of Pro
