Timo Savolainen followed SGB with another go at a checkout pass on his Pro Stock Bike. The motor cut out at the hit in the burnout. Restarted and burnout done, forward to the start line. 0.346 RT then the motor cut out and Timo stopped just by the Tree. 17:55 Junior Dragster qualifying top five after session 6: Patrik took over the lead in mid-session.
Junior Drag Bike qualifying top five after session 6 (Reaction Time): Kim Nieminen improves still further to consolidate the #1 spot.
Timo Savolainen returned after JDB for another checkout on his Pro Stock Bike. The bike lost fire in pre-stage and Timo pushed back. 17:45 Comp Eliminator qualifying top five after session 5: Jani L up into third in the first pair.
17:40 Super Pro ET qualifying top five after session 5 (Reaction Time): Kieku Salo into #5 spot in the second pair of the session. Next pair and Janne Noren moved up to #2.
Outlaw qualifying top five after session 5:
Timo Lahti followed Outlaw with a 9.989/161.36 checkout pass in his Pro Stock. 1.128 to sixty feet with a lot of clutch dust and sounded as if he had problems shifting gears. Similar problem a short while ago for Timo Savolainen on a checkout on his Pro Stock Bike. 17:15 Stock/Super Stock qualifying top five after session 5: Slight improvement for Hannu but stayed in fifth.
Super Comp qualifying top five after session 5: Meri-Tuuli Sassi into the top five at #4 in the first pair.
16:55 Outlaw Bike qualifying top five after session 5: Mika improved but stayed where he was on the ladder.
Funny Bike qualifying top five after session 3: An improvement for Juha Hillman in the first pair but he stayed in fourth.

Next pair and an improvement for Juha but he stayed in place, Jere Rantaniemi into the top five at #3.
Outlaw qualifying top five after session 4: Another improvement for Tero but stayed in place. An even more finely-judged run for Sampsa whilst in the other lane Jari Sokula got into the top five with his first run of the day.
Comp Eliminator qualifying top five after session 4: Martin Lundkvist into the sixes with his wild truck, well done Martin! Another improvement for Jani Lindqvist but he stayed in #4. Jani Lindvall into the top five at #4 with his very rapid Escort.
15:40 Stock/Super Stock qualifying top five after session 4: Hannu Palasmaa into #5 in the first pair of the session. Per into the lead with another improvement. 0.009 RT for Jarmo Markkanen.
Super Comp qualifying top five after session 4: An improvement for Niclas Ohlin but no change in place.
15:20 Outlaw Bike qualifying top five after session 4: An improvement for Sami to consolidate #1 spot.
Funny Bike qualifying top five after session 3: First run of the day and into #2 spot for Jere Laaksonen. Same story for Pasi Alakunnas only #3 spot and for Juha Hillman into #4.
15:10 Super Gas Bike qualifying top five after session 4: Improvement for Jarkko Tihinen and up to #2 spot. Jyrki up to #2 spot in the last run of the session.
Pro Street Bike qualifying top five after session 4: Mika up to #2 spot in the second pair. Jami Kumpulainen into the top five at #4 in the last but one pair.
Pro Harley Drags qualifying top five after session 4: Improvement for Jani in the first pair but stayed in place.
14:55 Junior Dragster qualifying top five after session 4: Ronja up to #4 from #5 and then in the last pair of the session Patrik Kivinummi came into the top five at #5.
Junior Drag Bike qualifying top five after session 4 (Reaction Time): Improvement for Kim to consolidate the #1 spot.
14:45 Outlaw qualifying top five after session 3: First pair and Risto Virtala bumped Timo Makela down to #6, taking #5 spot. Next pair and Sampa Palos took over #1, 0.024 off the class' lower limit, nicely judged Sampa! Improvement for Tero Karanen next pair but stayed in place.
Comp Eliminator qualifying top five after session 3: Huge improvement for Jani Lindqvist but would you believe not enough to make up any places!
14:20 Super Comp qualifying top five after session 3: Ari Pietila and Pertti Soronen side-by-side into #2 and #3 spots in the first pair.
Super Pro ET qualifying top five after session 3 (Reaction Time): Rolf Claeson into #1 spot in the middle of the session. Next pair and Kari Laitinen came into the top five at #4.
13:50 Stock/Super Stock qualifying top five after session 3: An improvement for Per in the first pair moved him up to #2.
13:40 Pro Harley Drags qualifying top five after session 3: Another improvement for Torsti but he stayed in #2, next pair and the same story for Marko, big improvement but no move.
Outlaw Bike qualifying top five after session 3: Mike Saroma into the top five at #3 after improvements for Rami and Juha V which made no difference to their placings. Final pair and Juha L came in to the top five at #4.

13:35 Super Gas Bike qualifying top five after session 3: Jyrki up into #2 spot in the first pair. Naughtiness of the day from Ismo Alajarvi, 9.393.
Pro Street Bike qualifying top five after session 3: Improvement for Petri in the first pair but he stayed in place. Same story for Kimmo Koslonen.
13:25 Junior Dragster qualifying top five after session 3: Iiro repeats his 0.005 of earlier to consolidate his #1 spot. Oskari Markkanen into the top five at #4.
Junior Drag Bike qualifying top five after session 3 (Reaction Time): Emmi up to #2 in the first pair. Next pair and Miro Gratschew came into the top five at #4. The changes kept coming as Kim Nieminen took over #1 spot in the next pair.
13:10 Outlaw qualifying top five after session 2: Hannu up to #1 in the first pair, alongside him Timo Kaisla came in to the top five at #4. Next pair and Timo Makela came in to the top five at #3, in the other lane Marko Leivo lost drive and stopped at about 200 feet. Next pair and Tero improved but stayed in place, in the other lane Sampsa came in to the top five at #3 and that was with a pedal and getting off the throttle early! Great run for Ari Niko in the taxi put him into the top five at #3 two pairs later.
Comp Eliminator qualifying top five after session 1: Martin still further under index, a great pass. Per-Erik Lindgren in to the top five at #2. Improvements but no changes in place for the rest of the top five.
12:40 Super Pro ET qualifying top five after session 2 (Reaction Time): Mikko improved his RT in the first pair but stayed in second place. Rolf and Janne side by side into #3 and #4 respectively.
The track crew are giving the surface a brush-up. Stay tuned. 12:30 Stock/Super Stock qualifying top five after session 2: Arto Sulopisto into the lead. Improvements from the rest of the top five.
Super Comp qualifying top five after session 2: Joonas Pesonen into #1 spot in the first pair. 0.009 RT for Pertti Soronen. Niklas Ohlin into #2 spot with the last run of the session.

11:55 Pro Harley Drags qualifying top five after session 2: Improvement for Torsti to consolidate his #1 spot, at least for one pair then Timo Makinen took over top place.
11:50 Super Gas Bike qualifying top five after session 2: Jyrki Paaso into #2 in the first pair. Then an improvement for Manu but he stayed in place. Jarkko Tihinen in at #5 next pair but then bumped out of the top five by Jarkko Niemi who took #1 spot.
Pro Street Bike qualifying top five after session 2: Vesa Ruhanen in at #1 and improvements for Ville, Mika, Kimmo and Petri.
11:40 Junior Dragster qualifying top five after session 2: Kimi Palenius into #1 in the second pairing. Next up Patrik Kivinnumi and Petteri Liimatainen who came in at #4 and #5 but then in the next pair Sofia Olli and Jimmi Orhanen came in to the top five. Jimi then bumped out of the top five by Marco Raisvuo coming in at #3. Iiro Laaksonen then took his lead back from Julia. Ronja Koskinen into the top five at #3 in the last pair.
Junior Drag Bike qualifying top five after session 2 (Reaction Time): Jesse Leino into #1 in the first pair. Next pair and improvements but no movements for Otto and Emmi. Minttu into the top five at #4 next pair. Two pairs later Kim Nieminen came in to the top five at #4.

9:45 Good morning and welcome from Alastaro for our coverage of the FHRA Nitro Nationals brought to you in association with American Car Imports. The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and will be posting a picture every sixty seconds until the track closes on Sunday. We are quite close in to the track here so the picture frame is full of start line but there will be plenty to see. It's a beautiful day here, the weather line on the timing console reads 23 C and there is hardly a cloud in the sky. Qualifying is due to start at 10:00 and several cycles are planned of the twelve sportsman classes. Reporting is manual this weekend, no electronic link to the timing system, which means tracking of top fives in Sportsman qualifying and then the winners in eliminations and full results for the Pros - this is not bias in favour of the Pros, it is just that the Sportsmen go through so quickly that it is impossible to keep up with them by hand whereas with burnouts and backing up in most classes the Pros give us a little more time for commentary.
