We took one of the legendary ferry rides from Stockholm to Turku overnight.

Couldn't it just say "Drag strip"?

Jorma of FHRA's Tech Crew servicing the timing cells before installation on the track.

Hopefully the jet dryer won't need any use this weekend but it was serviced anyway.

Today's arrivals so far have mainly been Pro Mod and Top Fuel racers.

Lauri Kuriks of Estonia has rented the Saapolas' Pro Mod to run in Outlaw.

We liked the cartoon even if Powermist appears to be in use.

Two of the UK contingent already on the facility.

Big things are expected of the Lindberg Brothers on their first Pro Mod visit to Alastaro.

Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy Robinson's Pro Mod awaiting shelter.

Adam Flamholc was another early Pro Mod arrival.

Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs Erbacher's rig came in at lunchtime.

UK Top Methanol Dragster racer Dave Wilson was putting up his awning single-handedly and it's not an easy job with a few people doing it.

Fred Hanssen's Top Methanol Dragster is on-site, team-mate Paul Ingar Udtian can't be far behind.

Eurodragster.com sponsor Derek Flynn is also flying solo until tomorrow.

So long as Tigger is in place, the air bottle is not on, or that's the theory.

Former Pro Comp Funny Car racer Timo Aartomaa with Top Fuel Dragster racer Jari Halinen.

Tommi and Anita Top Fuel Racing are awaiting two fuel pumps courtesy of UPS; they are expected on Friday.

This cow was put together from broken parts by Tommi and Anita's son Heikki.

New vinyls being applied to the Top Fuel Dragster driven by Risto Poutiainen.

All the fasteners you could need in Rune Fjeld's pit...

...not to mention a shiny new block.

Janne Ahonen's son Mico is driving in Junior Stock Dragster this weekend and Janne and the guys were working on the car when we stopped by their pit.

We can hear the ladies swooning all around Europe.

The Lindberg Brothers have their welding machine on site and have already attracted business from Comp racer Per Erik Lindgren's crew.

Somewhere in Sweden is a guy nursing various injuries after he tried to have Top Fuel Bike racer and Judo Champion Rene van den Berg's wallet away. Rene gave the guy a lickle tickle with his fists and he never bothered him again.

Back to Per Erik Lindgren and there is now a four-cylinder supercharged methanol-burning motor in the very rapid altered.

If we remember rightly we haven't seen Rolf Vogel in Pro Mod since last year's NitrOlympX.

Just about enough ice cream to keep the Eurodragster.com staff happy for the next four days.

The aforementioned welding job taking place.

Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham Ellis is another racer working solo until his crew arrive. Graham said this gave him an even bigger appreciation of the Kirk family doing all the setting-up here last year.

A spare bullet for Pro Mod racer Adam Flamholc.

Can you i.d. the Pro Mod under cover?

The food arriving for the Finnish Hot Rod Association marshals.
