No changes to the top five in this session. As promised Per Mikkelsen turned out again this session, some racer's tape on the nose of the car but not looking too badly damaged. Per picked up where he left off, clocking 7.49. Kimmo Rantala took the lead in this final session for Street Bike today. Jonas Lundberg improved his ET but stayed in place. Super Gas Bike top five after qualifying session 4:

In this session Linda Eriksson moved into the top five at #4. With only a few classes left to run their final qualifiers we have gone to single lane running for the rest of the day because the rubber began to lift in the right lane whilst clean-up took place after an oildown. This session started off as one for the girls with Jenny Gustafsson and Jessica Selles moving into the top five at #3 and #5 respectively but Nico Hansalahti took over the lead a couple of pairings after Jenny's run to bump Jessica out of the top five, and Niklas Andersson moved into the #3 spot leaving Jenny in #5. 14:35 Competition Eliminator top five after qualifying session 3:
Tage Avander moved into #5 spot in this session. Stil Olsson put in a great pass in the Norrland Custom A/D slingshot, which is new to us at Eurodragster.com, 7.162 on a 7.60 index and taking the long way round just like a slingshot should. Torstein Arestol moved into the top five at #5. Super Gas Bike top five after qualifying session 3:

Pasi Mikkonen went even further under index to consolidate his #1 spot, whilst Björn Bondesson moved up to #2 spot and also pulled wheelie of the day so far! Jukka Johansson moved into the top five at #4 on his first run of the day. 13:30 Super Comp top five after qualifying session 3:
A great run by Jenny Gröhn won her #2 spot. The top ten qualifiers are in the 8.9s. An interesting sight in Super Comp is Aulis Hameenkorpi driving the Eagle Racing Two Seater Dragster, Aulis ran a low nine in this session. Bosse Hall improved and moved up to #3 spot, and Harri Forsten moved into the top five at #4 only for Tomas Risdal to bump him down to #5 in the next pairing. In the next run after that, Janne Soderquist took over the lead. The top eleven qualifiers are in the 9.9s. Adam Flamholc took over the lead in this session and Janne Ahonen moved up to #2. Congratulations to our good buddy Nev Mottershead on a new Personal Best ET of 8.757 in this session, Nev is still checking out his rebuilt engine and it's looking pretty good so far! 12:05 Stock/Superstock top five after qualifying session 2:
Pasi Mikkonen took over the lead in this session going almost a second under index, nice one Pasi! An improvement for Björn Bondesson moved him up to #3 spot. 11:45 Super Comp top five after qualifying session 2:
Leif Andersson moved into the top five in this session, #2 at that point and check out that terminal speed. Christer having been moved out of the top five by Leif then took #2 spot from him! Bo Ragnebro then moved up to #2 spot to bump them both down a place. Paul Ingar Udtian was next into the top five, #5 at that point. Mikael Nilsson is on top form having run another 8.90 in this session, 8.909 this time. Also of note is Dennis Habermann who is backing off the throttle at half track in his dragster yet still managing to run in the 9.0s. 11:30 Super Gas top five after qualifying session 2:
Bosse Hall moved into the top five in this session, #3 at that point, then Pelle Norén improved and moved Bosse down to #4. In the last but one pairing Janne Soderquist took #3 spot moving Pelle and Bosse down to #4 and #5. Trackside conditions during this session were 29.6 C, 13% humidity and 1011 mb of air. Per Mikkelsen took a trip into the kitty litter at the end of the shutdown area after his storming Personal Best pass. Word from the race officials was that Per is A-OK, and Per himself just paid Race Control a visit. Per said that he got nothing when he hit the brakes. The front of the car is pretty badly damaged but Per said that he and the team would fix it and that they would be back. Congratulations to Mikael Nilsson who took the Eurodragster.com/LA Racing Parts Perfect ET Award with his first run of the weekend. Mikael's zeroes actually went to the fourth decimal place, well done Mikael! It's one of the biggest races in the history of European Drag Racing and we're here to bring you all the news in association with American Car Imports. The Webster Race Engineering/MPM Oil webcam is on-line and posting a picture every two minutes; you can reach the webcam via the Event Index page. If I were a hack English journalist then my first comment would be "Phew, what a scorcher". It is only early yet it is already very warm here at Mantorp Park, not a cloud in the sky and a glorious day. Personally I would not care to be in a multi-layer firesuit today. We'll bring you the trackside and track temperatures shortly. Today we are scheduled for four cycles of Sportsman qualifying starting at 8:30 but given how well races are run here I would not be surprised if there was a fifth slotted in, but we'll see what happens. You will read it here first of course. Simon is already getting set up to visit the pits whilst the track crew apply the finishing touches.
