Good evening and welcome from Shakespeare County Raceway. It's been a great day with nice weather although a chill breeze has been blowing up the track since this morning. Let's take you through some of today's highlights in association with American Car Imports.
The Fuel and Alcohol altereds had two sessions today. Pete Radcliffe was quickest in the first session with an 8.561/140.62 in his Alcohol altered, followed by Neil Townson's Alcohol Altered at 9.129/111.39, Mark Needham's Fuel Altered at 10.132/109.49 and Mickey Moore's Fuel Altered at 11.197/81.52. The second session was again led by Pete Radcliffe with an 8.492/120.32 which was shut off at about nine hundred feet when the car started to slide about and then turned right. Mickey Moore clocked 9.771/90.00 whilst Mark Needham shut off after his burnout.
Roger Goring has the quickest Jet FC pass of the weekend so far with a 6.421/247.25, Tony Baker got very close to the sixes with a 7.092/226.13 at the end of the day. Also on the thrust-powered front we have had one pass from Charles Berg in his revolutionary rocket dragster, 9.829/71.32 at half track and 16.217/65.41 at the stripe.
The Outlaw Anglias had three sessions today. At the end of the day the fastest times of day were:
Tony Clark has been progressing very well indeed on Paul Rose's Pro Stock Bike, his four passes today were 10.087/135.95, 9.807/138.32, 9.521/147.54 and 8.828/156.79. Martin Clitheroe's first pass on the ex-Tim Blakemore Funny Bike was a 12.207, taking it very sensibly on such a powerful bike.
