Trond Olsen came in to the top five with three byes left to run, #4 at that point. Qualifying is now finished for today. Stay tuned for more pit notes from Simon, and today's photo gallery will also follow in a couple of hours. Most of this session was run as left lane byes after a long oildown (the distance, not the clean-up time). Janne Ahvelampi came back in to the top five early in the session. He was only in the top five for a few moments, though, as Tage Olsson came straight in at #1. Mats Karlsson leapfrogged Dirk Large, up to #3 at that point. The top ten qualifiers are in the 9.5s. We just had word that the fourth qualifying cycle has been cancelled as the second eighth in the right lane needs some maintenance. 14:20 Comp Eliminator qualifying top five after session 3:
Per Erik Lindgren took #5 spot in the first pairing of the session, in the other lane Rimbert Vahlstrom's wild Bankrobber Plymouth smoked the tyres and made a good move for the Tree. In the last but two pairing Tage Avander improved and moved up to #3 spot with a storming pass, a great pass of 7.3899 for Par Eriksson in his Volvo in the other lane. A great run for Perre Rydberg in his Chevy Bel Air, all the aerodynamics of Race Control and a 6.6042/339.87 good for sixth spot. The top twenty five qualifiers are under index. Word in Race Control is that we are adding a fourth qualifying cycle. Lars Nyberg improved by 0.0006 in the second pairing of the session, but stayed in place. 13:30 Super Comp qualifying top five after session 3:
Peter Abrahamsson came into the top five at #5 with three pairings left in the session. The top nine qualifier are in the 8.9s. 13:15 Super Gas qualifying top five after session 3:
Johan Rehnstrom went into #1 spot in the fourth pairing of the session, and Halvor Kaldrastoyl made his first appearance in the top five in the next pairing, #3 at that point. Jan Hardekopf having been put out of the top five came back in, #2 spot at that point. Christer Uhlin improved but stayed in place. Tony Asberg back into the top five with the second run of the session, #4 at that point. 13:00 Junior Dragster qualifying top five after session 3:
Kevin Danielsson into the top five in mid-session, #3 at that point. Grete Ingdal came very close indeed to the Eurodragster.com/Speedflow Perfect Light Award with a -0.0001 red light, three duck eggs as per requirement but unfortunately a foul. Sebastien Bried had a good go at the money too, taking over #1 spot with his 0.0070 in the last but one pairing of the session. 12:40 Super Comp Bike qualifying top five after session 2:
Not the best start to the session for Dag Wagenius as his bike's rear sprocket failed off the line and ended up on the track in several pieces. In the next pairing Jan Erik Skrefsrud came into the top five, #5 at that point. On we go to cycle 3. 12:30 Super Gas Bike qualifying top five after session 2:
This was a busy session for the top five. Markus Berglund into #2 spot in the first pairing. Three pairings later Fredrik Andersson took over #1 spot, which lasted exactly one pairing as Daniel Andersson went into #1. Daniel's lead lasted one pairing itself as Dirk Large took over #1, and Timo Savoilainen in the other lane went into #3. Mats Karlsson then bumped Daniel down another spot as he took #2 in the next pair. The Perfect ET Award is starting to look good in this class too as Christer Holmberg was first into the 9.50s for the lead. Next on track was the Eagle Racing Two Seat Dragster and in the passenger seat was birthday girl Lotta Andersson, wife of our good buddy Erik Zettervall. Lotta's birthday present was an 8.0860/261.47 and a smile which probably won't go away for a very long while. Happy Birthday Lotta! 12:20 Comp Eliminator qualifying top five after session 2:
Robin Sattler the first to make a move in this session, up from #5 to #3. Krister Adeen into the top five a few pairings later, #5 at that point, in the other lane Henrik Serrano clocked 7.9610 which judging by the crew's reaction was a Personal Best, well done Henrik! Krister's presence in the top five lasted a few pairings as Christian Sagelv came in at #5 with his first run of the day. 11:50 Stock/Superstock qualifying top five after session 2:
An improvement for Ari Korkko but he stayed in #4 at that point. A few pairings later Bjorn Bondesson wheelied his way into the top five, #5 at that point. Uffe Edwardsson went still further under index to consolidate his #1 spot. Not to be left out, #2 qualifier Lars Nyberg improved as well. 11:35 Super Comp qualifying top five after session 2:
Christer Haglund came into the top five in the first pairing of this session, #3 at that point. A wild ride for Fredrik Eddlund as his Camaro hit shake and turned hard right past the Tree, but Fredrik got off the throttle and straightened it out. Next into the top five was Magnus Johansson, #2 at that point. In the last but one pairing of the session, Pertti Soronen took over the lead, the Eurodragster.com/Gold RV Perfect ET Award coming within reach now. Ari Pietila rounded off the session by taking #2 spot. 11:15 Super Gas qualifying top five after session 2:
An improvement for Jon Olsen in his wild Jeep but he stayed in #5 at that point. Also improving was Christer Ulhlin but again he stayed in place. Next into the top five was Anders Brandstrom who went into third in that pairing. Micke Noren into #2 spot in the first pairing. Next pairing and Tony Asberg came in to the top five at #4, and then Anders Soderberg took over the lead for our colleages at Eurodragsternorth.com. Lovisa Jacobson, daughter of one of Leif Andréasson's sponsors, was licencing at Borlänge last week and she is obviously a quick learner since she took the lead in the fourth pairing of the session, nice one Lovisa! A few pairings later Lisa Selles took over #1 spot with a 0.0079 but was then taken out of the standings for breaking out of the class limit, which put Hakon Engan Karlsen into the top five. Next into the top five was Truls Monsen at #3, but Viktoria Sand came in at #1 in the next pairing and bumped Truls down a spot. 10:40 Super Comp Bike qualifying top five after session 1:

8:20 Good morning and welcome from Mantorp Park for the first day of qualifying for the Veidec Festival. It's a beautiful day here and we're all set to bring you all the news in association with American Car Imports. The Webster Race Engineering/MPM Oil webcam will be on-line as long as the track is open and will be scheduled to post a picture every sixty seconds. A big Hello and Happy Birthday to Grace Roaf who is tuned in from the UK, hope you have a great day Grace. All times in our reports this weekend are of course local, and all speeds are in kilometres per hour. The plan for today is for at least three rounds of NDRS Sportsman qualifying although I would not be at all surprised if another was added.
