With a more or less dry track, again, the rain started to fall, again,
so the Race Director has called a halt to today's racing. So that's all
for today. The track crew have worked very hard indeed today and they very
deservedly received a big round of applause from everyone in the stands
for their efforts.
Stay tuned to the Svensk Dragracing web site for today's full results
from eliminations and today's Photo Gallery.

Bengtsson 6.802/328.34, Willem Been 10.150/189.75
Ton Pels took back the lead with his pass, Per Bengtsson's burnout had
things falling off shelves here in race control but he couldn't quite
snatch the number one spot back.

Johansson broke, Rob Turner 5.562/405.54, Dave Wilson 5.628/411.29 bye
Krister Johanson climbed out of his dragster after the burnout,
transmission problems we guess. Rob Turner took over second place with a
fine pass, a hint of shake. Dave Wilson had some shake at about sixty feet
which probably took some time off his pass.

6.694/339.71, Norbert Kuno 7.009/309.91
Apologies to Christer Jacobs for mis-identifying him as Lars Olsson
earlier - that's what the timing system said and we didn't have our ears
on. A fine pass from Håkan Nilsson took the lead back whilst Peter Kunc
recorded a superb time even though he rolled through stage as the Tree
ran. Improvements from Micke Lindahl and Henri Joosten, Micke moving up
the ladder a place. Terje Hakonsen threw a blower belt at half track after
pulling a 200-foot burnout. A huge improvement from Fredde Fagerström took
him a number of places up the ladder. Christer Jacobs watched Håkan
Nilsson take the lead then took it back again with an arrow-straight pass.

line, Magnus Larsson 9.118/160.05, Antonio Ferretti 7.562/305.55, Finn
Asserbo 7.372/287.48, Sverre Dahl shut off
Nils Ole Lund cured whatever has been ailing his TFB this weekend, a
superb straight pass, but then off the end of the track. The recovery was
very swift so we guess that Nils is OK. Peter Andersson Ström was on a
fine pass but started drifting towards the guardrail towards the top end
and you could hear the throttle feathering. Roel Koedam's bike sounded as
if it was leaning out towards the top end but he has a real grip on the
field here this weekend. Sverre Dahl's crew shut him off after his
burnout.

Jörgen Johnsson 6.048/382.43, Ulf Leanders 5.971/390.57, Fredde Fagerström
6.089/376.12.
Dan Larsen did not back up from his burnout, the car sitting forlornly
out at two hundred feet whilst Leif Andréasson put in his pass. Leif
improved but didn't change position, similarly Ulf Leanders. Jörgen
Johnsson rolled through stage as the Tree ran then hammered it. A new PB
for Fredde Fagerström.

13:00 Supertwin qualifying session 2 Track conditions for this session were 24.5 C, 50% humidity and 1002 Mb
pressure.
Each pair left lane first: Hans-Olav Olstad 7.487/274.54, Mattias
Westin broke in burnout, Greger Johansson 7.669/279.97, Vidar Ravnsborg
broke, Svein Gottenberg 8.954/161.17, Per Bengtsson 6.775/306.43, Willem

Nielsen 7.564/237.62, Svein-Olav Rolfstad 6.920/303.90, Ton Pels
6.807/331.98
There was a flash of flame from Svein Gottenberg's bike at half-track.
No clean-up though so hopefully nothing serious. In the other lane Per
Bengtsson took the qualifying lead. Willem Been's engine popped as he
started his burnout, the engine stayed lit and he went on to make his pass
but the engine expired long before the finish line. Ronny Aasen recorded a
new personal best in the other lane. Rob van Geffen was off the throttle
by a hundred feet, he looked down at his engine and then straightened the
bike up. Ton Pels improved but couldn't take his first place back.

Fuel Dragster qualifying session 2 Each pair left lane first: Micke Kågered 5.066/444.55 bye, Susanne
Callin shut off after burnout, Tommy Möller 8.810/153.87, Kim Reymond
5.109/420.45, Anita Mäkelä 5.056/354.13, Andy Carter 5.248/399.89
The story with Tommi Haapanen being bowled over by Anita Mäkelä's Top
Fueller yesterday was that as he turned away after starting the car, his
shirt caught on the throttle linkage and opened the throttle. The car
leapt forward and knocked Tommi over. Both of Tommi's legs were skinned
from the knee up and he had bandages on both; he also showed us a big hole
which had been ripped in his shirt where he caught it, but Tommi was OK
and in fact was joking about it.
In this session, Micke Kågered left the line with a cylinder out but it
was clear by about 400 feet, Micke stayed on the throttle until a couple
of hundred feet before the finish. Susanne Callin was shut off after
backing up from her burnout after oil was spotted leaking from the car.
Tommy Möller appeared to have trouble pulling forward as he prepared to
stage, Crew Chief Kenneth Lorentzon yanked the car forward hard enough for
Tommy to roll all the way in. He was off the throttle with cylinders out
before half track. Kim Reymond had pipes out on the right hand side of the
engine by two hundred feet, and backed off at about three-quarter track.
Anita Mäkelä's terminal betrays an early shut-off, some smoke but nothing
obviously wrong. Andy Carter's run looked quicker than it was, a 0.965
sixty foot indicating a soft set-up.

5.545/405.15, Dave Wilson 5.753/322.33
Peter Schöfer took the lead away from Dave Wilson in this session with
a new track record. Dave pulled a massive holeshot on Peter in their
pairing (although it doesn't matter in qualifying) and was well ahead
until the engine started to smoke and Dave backed off. Team Mum Linda
Wilson later told us that the smoke may have been from the brakes since
Dave had no chutes.

Mats Eriksson 6.671/339.66, Peter Kunc 10.394/138.14, Thomas Nataas
6.606/342.16
The lead changed hands three times in this session. Håkan Nilsson took
the lead from Roger Johansson with his pass, then Roger took it straight
back off him in the next pairing. Then towards the end of the session
Christer Jacobs stole it away from the pair of them. Excellent qualifying!

Ian King had an explosion on his TFB just after half track. A small
flame suddenly turned into a huge fireball and a massive yellow nitro
cloud. Ian kept the bike upright and got it stopped, the safety crews were
right there and word very quickly came back from the top end that apart
from some burns on his legs Ian is A-OK. No word on the bike yet.

In this session we noticed that Ulf Leanders' FC now has tiny spill
plates and a gurney flap on the back of the body - but they are a
centimetre in height at the very most. A new track speed record for Urs
Erbacher, just a touch off the magic 400 kmh. The track crew rushed to
pick something off the track after Fredde Fagerström's run and it turned
out to be his neck brace. A new PB and his first five for Niclas
Andersson.

A big Thank You to everyone who has written to say that they are
enjoying the joint Svensk Dragracing/Eurodragster coverage - we very much
appreciate it.
Today's schedule has Junior Dragster, Super Street, Super Gas and Super
Comp starting in a few minutes, with the first Pro session scheduled at
